WHO WE ARE?

ABOUT US
The Research and Innovation Support (RIS) Department within the IT Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) is responsible for engaging with different international collaboration programs, through which it targets local ICT SMEs to effectively participate in; allowing them to gain an international competitive edge through research, innovation, and networking for market expansion and technology transfer. Moreover, the department is also responsible for ensuring and facilitating the participation of ITIDA in different collaboration programs, either national or international, that would bring real value to our local ICT companies allowing them to be competitive, profitable and adding a considerable boost to our national GDP.

OUR MISSION

Support the development of mature innovation management systems in Egyptian ICT SMEs that would enable them to introduce competitive innovative ICT products and services into the marketplace; leading to a considerable boost to our national GDP.

OUR OBJECTIVES

• Increase awareness of Egyptian ICT companies about the involvement of ITIDA in different international collaboration programs and the added-value of these programs.
• Increase Egyptian ICT companies’ effective participation in these programs.
• Support and collaborate with local initiatives targeting the ICT sector.
• Increase ITIDA’s international visibility and participate in international collaboration programs.
• Form collaborating business clusters focusing on specific ICT technology areas.
• Develop national ICT programs that would serve our mission.
• Form technology/knowledge transfer networks.

PREVIOUS ACHIEVEMENTS

1- Supported the participation of 25 SMEs in Call 4 of the strategic pan-European program for advanced pre-competitive R&D in software for Software-intensive Systems and Services (SiS). "ITEA 2".

2- Supported the participation of 20 companies in Call 1 of  the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Program.

3- Conducted 6 events/workshops in Cairo that were attended by a total of 475 companies to increase the awareness of the ICT sector with research and Innovation programs.

4- Supported 35 companies to participate in Research and innovation related international conferences.

5- Developed a database that includes 300 Egyptian companies working in the ICT field mapping their expertise in technology areas that are relevant to the EU FP7.
